PC co-op games for two players

Built for pairs — not for a four-person lobby you hope to shrink.

Read this before the list

Player limits vary by mode, DLC, and patch. Confirm the co-op lobby cap on the Steam or Epic store page before you buy for the group.

These picks assume two players in one lobby tonight — not a larger Discord server where only part of the group plays.

Ownership matters more than hype: everyone needs a copy on a store they can launch from PC.

Strong duo picks on PC (check ownership first)

  • It Takes Two — built for exactly two players; no solo mode. The second player can join via Friend's Pass where the store supports it.
  • A Way Out — linear co-op for two only; both players need the game.
  • Portal 2 — cooperative campaign for two; still holds up for puzzle nights.
  • Stardew Valley — farm co-op supports more than two, but duos often prefer one shared farm.
  • Divinity: Original Sin 2 — supports up to four online, but many duos run the full campaign as a pair.

Do not drop these into a three- or four-player night

It Takes Two and A Way Out are strict two-player games. For larger squads, split into pairs or pick from the three- and four-player lists.

Pairs who split across Steam and Epic should still confirm both own the title before session night.

Duo on different stores?

Compare both libraries before you pick a title for date night.
