Set up PlayGrid for a Discord co-op server
Admins add the bot once. Members RSVP in Discord and run libraries, sessions, and launch on Windows.
Setup flow for server admins
- Open playgrids.app/discord and sign in with Discord.
- Add the PlayGrid bot when prompted.
- Pin a channel for session posts if your group wants public RSVPs.
- Tell members to download the Windows app and link Steam, Epic, and EA.
What the bot does not replace
The bot does not sync libraries or launch games. Members need the Windows app for shared ownership, the full session wizard, and launch at game time.
FAQ
Do all server members need PlayGrid on Windows?
For shared libraries, session creation, and launch, yes. Discord covers optional RSVPs, slash commands, and channel posts.
Which Discord permissions does the bot need?
Enough to post session cards and respond to slash commands in the channels you choose during setup. OAuth scopes are shown on playgrids.app/discord.
Can we plan entirely in Discord?
Bot commands list sessions and shared games. Full session creation with library context and launch requires the Windows desktop app.
